The short answer

Start with Tuttle's 200-sheet 15 cm pack. It is large enough to learn clean units and varied enough to practise colour planning without buying a lifetime supply.

Choose by project
  1. 01

Move to the 500-sheet pack when you already know you enjoy repetitive folding or a planned model needs hundreds of units.

  2. 02

Choose Toyo Tant for firmer, textured paper and deliberate colour work, not as the cheapest material for early mistakes.

  3. 03

Large sheets are easier to learn from, but many modular models become enormous at 15 cm. Cut accurately only after the fold sequence feels familiar.
