The Consumer Library is built for the moment when you know roughly what you need, but not which version is worth buying. Each guide narrows the field, explains the trade-offs and shows the evidence behind the shortlist.

We focus on useful, specific questions—including niche equipment that larger review sites often skip. A guide may compare an entry choice, a stronger mid-range choice and a top-end option, but only when those levels make sense for the category.

Research assisted by AI, approved by a person

AI helps collect and organise manufacturer information, specialist reviews, recurring owner feedback and current retailer listings. It does not get the final word. Every guide enters a private review queue, where its products, drawbacks, sources, dates and links can be checked before publication.

We never present online research as hands-on testing. If a future guide contains original testing, it will say exactly what was tested and how.

When a product question belongs to a hobby, the guide can link to the relevant beginner guide on The Hobby Library. The two sites answer different parts of the same decision: what the activity involves, and what is worth buying for it.
